CAMO has been implanting these lenses since 1998 and has completed thousands of procedures to correct severe myopia; at the time of writing it is the indisputable reference center in Italy.
Severe myopia: superior surgery
Severe myopia, greater than 7 diopters, cannot be treated efficaciously with a laser procedure. However, for this type of defect, there is a procedure available and the results are quite extraordinary: it involves the implantation of an artificial crystalline lens.
The artificial crystalline is inserted in the eye without removing the natural crystalline lens.
This type of surgery is particularly interesting because it consents correction of the sight defect while maintaining the function of the natural crystalline lens, essential for near vision and the stability of the eye.
